With so many credentials being introduced every day it’s very normal to get confused about which one is better. However, we often stuck between CBAP and PMP certification. Certified Business Analyst Professional and Project Management Professional both of them hold equal recognition in the corporate world. Hence, based on the experience and liking you have, you can choose the program that would lend you better knowledge about the terminology and formulas.
Whether you choose the CBAP Certification Training or you go for the project management course both of them are almost the same yet have a different context.
Similarities between both certifications:
- If you get certified in any of the programs you need to renew both of them after a certain set of years.
- In both cases, there is a certain code of ethics that is to be followed.
- There is a prescribed guide book for both the certificates provided by their respective institutes.
- Eligibility criteria for both of these certifications require extensive experience in the field and project management.
- You have to clear the exam for which you need to do your PMP exam prep or CBAP preparation.
The differences that they hold:
- PMP is a certification provided by the Project Management Institute (PMI) whereas the CBAP credential is offered by the International Institute of Business Analyst (IIBA)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) focuses on the experience one holds as being the leading project manager while on the other hand, Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP) concentrates on the business analyst domain.
In a nutshell, the right to choose the certification is dependent upon what one aspires to be. To much extend both of them are interrelated yet there are certain core concepts that a project manager needs to focus on, similarly, some core concepts are taken into consideration by a Business Analyst. It’s difficult to decide which one is more difficult as both of them have a designed exam structure. So, whether you do the PMP Exam prep or go for being a professional Business Analyst the amount of hard work and dedication will remain the same.
