I'm quite sure everyone thinks that learning is a healthy habit. Everyone, whether their employers, teams, co-workers, or family, learns on a daily or hourly basis from everyone around them. You continue to learn, and as you become older, you gradually regress to learn from your environment. You grow more inflexible in your beliefs, and your intake from the environment gradually declines.
So, when you advance in your career and take
on management responsibilities, will you need to undertake project management courses online. The most learning since
their job position requires them to be adaptable, yet they are, by nature or by
design, the least flexible members of the team.
"How do you induce learning?" is the next question. Some
excellent organizations have recognized this, and learning has become an
important component of their operations, which is to expand the company. This
learning is driven by them - you may call it forced or rewarded learning.
Employees are forced to learn by putting it in their yearly assessments or by
incentivizing them with additional benefits if they acquire new managerial
skills. Employees are also enthusiastic about learning new abilities since they
recognize that it will help them advance in their careers. This appears to be a
nice idea as long as the firms support it.
What about the rest of the group? Is it sufficient to invest your own
money in executive learning? Isn't it a complete waste of time and resources?
One could make a case.
I had the opportunity to speak with a number of managers about this
issue. They also feel that management training programmes, such as project management courses online, are only beneficial
until you obtain the "PMP Certified" mark. They claim that it aids
prospective employers in recognizing and employing the tag, demonstrating the
importance of these types of training. The tag does assist to receive the appropriate
attention, whether it's for PMP® certification, Wharton executive program, or
any other executive training. But do you honestly believe the company hires you
just for the tag?
In my view, the company hires you because you have the necessary
expertise to modify the way project management is done, or because the employee
will make a significant difference in the method management is done. The
company is betting on you to win the tag rather than recruiting you for it.
Learning is never a waste of time, especially Executive Learning, which
is becoming increasingly necessary as our thinking gets more rigid and the
world around us becomes more dynamic.
Consider whether Executive Learning is a worthwhile investment in your
future or a waste of time and money. It's up to you.
