The Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Project Management Program (PMP), and other professional courses offered by PMI. These certifications are for professionals who want to take on a major responsibility, work on bigger projects, and improve their project management abilities. The versatility of these certifications comes from the fact that they aren't connected to any one technique, standard, or organization. They may be used in a range of organizations and geographic borders.
CAPM
Certification Exam:
There are
150 multiple-choice questions in the
CAPM certification, 15 of which are pretest questions. The pre-test
questions will not influence your scores, but will be useful in determining the
validity of future examination questions. Because all of the questions are set
randomly, the applicants are unable to identify those 15 questions.
Three hours
are allocated to complete the CAPM test. Under no circumstances are breaks permitted during the online proctored
examination, and leaving your desk will result in the exam being terminated.
However, if you take the exam at a test center, you can take a break if
necessary.
PMI
recently changed the CAPM certification exam. Changes include:
●
The application
Working
experience is no longer mandatory!
Since August
28, 2019, new CAPM candidates do not have to meet the 1500-hour work experience
criteria. However, applicants must complete the required 23 hours of project
management training. No prior project management exposure is required. As a
result, anyone who has completed 23 contact hours and holds a secondary diploma
can apply for certification. So if you are inexperienced you can easily apply
for the CAPM certification.
●
The exam
Previously,
PMP and CAPM questions had a similar format. However, with the new design, the
PMI intends to divide exam questions into two halves.
The first
pattern consists of questions and processes being matched. Candidates will pay
more attention to project management processes when studying for the exam as a
result of this procedure. So you can apply what you've learned.
The second pattern will put your knowledge to the test in a
more comprehensive manner. There are several correct answers to multiple-choice
questions in this section. Before making your decision, you should carefully
consider all of the available possibilities.
Who
Should Apply for the CAPM certification?
If you're
unsure whether CAPM is perfect for you, ask yourself if you'd like to manage
larger projects, take on more responsibility, or add project management
abilities to your resume.
The CAPM
certification gives recognition to professionals who are interested in Project
management. If you're just starting a career in project management or a project
team member and want to demonstrate your project management knowledge, the CAPM
certification is for you.
The CAPM
certification from PMI recognizes professionals who have made project
management their main focus. PMP is another option for project management
certification. You can also undergo PMP
exam prep to improve your work prospects.
Both CAPM
and PMP exam prep are similar as
they follow the terminologies, best practices, guidelines, and processes from
the Project Management Body of Knowledge(PMBOK).
