In
this current century, the maximum of job sectors is explored in any business
industry. After globalization, many companies have explored their business
outside the founded country. So, they have to divide their large working fields
in small projects.
To
manage the projects efficiently and to raise the company’s rank the company
often needs the certified project manager. So, the importance of certification
among the employees working in the management sectors is increasing day by day.
Certified
Associate in Project Management - CAPM and Project Management Professional -
PMP are the two most important certification courses for project management.
Here the differences between these two project management courses are given
below:
Certification
Certification
is the main purpose of both the CAPM and PMP courses but the valuation is not
the same in both of the courses. PMP is considered the most important and
prestigious certification course among all the project management courses. PMP
certification has global acceptance. So, PMP training is
considered tougher than CAPM training. So, achieving CAPM certification is
quite easier than achieving PMP certification.
Experience
Experience
is required in both of the certification courses of management. PMP
certification provides a global identity to the project manager. So naturally,
the required experience to appear for this course is higher than any other
course. A high school degree is a basic requirement for CAPM.
Besides, for PMP minimum of five years of work experience as a project manager
is mandatory. Besides the high school degree appliers also require a minimum of
1500 hours of project management experience or 23 hours of project management
education.
Exam
The
exam methods are also different from the two management courses. In both of the
courses, the appliers have to give the online exam. The number of questions in
PMP is more than CAPM. Moreover, in PMP maximum questions are based on previous
experiences and real-life situations. Besides, the questions of CAPM are
easier and study guidebook oriented. So, making a good score at CAPM is easier
than PMP. The PMP exam fees are also higher than CAPM.
Content
The
exam contents are different in two of the courses. In CAPM the whole syllabus
is vaster than PMP. The entire project management syllabus is divided into
eleven chapters. Each chapter carries some percentages that make 100 percent in
total. Therefore, the PMP syllabus contains only five chapters. These five
chapters also carry some percentages that make 100 percent in total. In CAPM
each chapter provides the detail of project management. Besides, in PMP the
chapters are based on task and real-life job-related situations.
Benefits
Though PMP training and
certification provides global recognition, CAPM is also considered a very
important certification course at project management. One can not apply for PMP
certification without having enough experience in the project management
sector. Therefore one can learn and understand the project management field by
the CABM certification course. The detailed analysis of the chapters helps a
person to solve the practical problems in the job field.
So,
to pursue your career globally you can surely take the PMP training and
certification. Besides, if you are new at the project management field then you
need the CABM course. CABM certification not only helps you to be a successful
project manager but also will help to understand the practical field of project
managing.
