What is the process to apply for PMP
exam?
The timeline for
PMP certification is given below:
1.
Application submission
The first step is
to submit the application for PMP. You get 90 days to complete your application
oce you have started filling the details.
2.
Application reviews
Your application
review status is given in maximum of 5 days.
3.
Audit process
After the
reviewing of your application, if your application is selected you get 90 days
to submit your audit materials. PMI takes 5-7 days to process your audit
materials. The eligibility period begins once audit review is complete.
4.
Application payment process
After successful
review of your application and audit materials submit the credential fee
payment. After you have submitted the fee you are now eligible for scheduling
the exam.
5.
Multiple choice examination eligibility
You are eligible
for this for 1 year from the date of your application approval. You can take
the exam for up to 3 times during this period.
6.
Certification cycle
Once you have
cleared your exam your certification cycle begins.
7.
Credential management
You will have to
maintain the credentials for 3 years. You are required to earn and report 60
professional development units within this time limit.
8.
Credential Renewal
Once you have
earned and reported 60 PDUs within 3 year cycle you can apply for credential
renewal. You will have to submit the renewal fees as well.
9.
Credential suspension
It is valid for 1
year. It occurs on the third anniversary of the day you passed the exam if you
have not fulfilled the Continuing Certification Requirements. During this
period you won’t be able to use the PMP designation.
10. Credential
Expiration
It occurs at the
end of your suspension period if you did not fulfill the Continuing
Certification Requirements.
11. After
Credential expiration
If you want to
hold the credential again you will have to reapply.
